Sauvignon Blanc 2018

“Vibrant and zesty, featuring grapefruit and nectarine notes that mingle with hints of tarragon, white pepper and sea salt. Refreshing and well-knit, with a moderately long finish. Drink now through 2022.” 89 points

“The 2018 Southern Right Sauvignon Blanc has a clean, fresh gooseberry, nettle and grass clipping bouquet. The palate is well balanced with quite a rich opening but maintains tension, thanks to a fine bead of acidity and pleasant salinity toward the finish. A delicious Sauvignon Blanc.” 90 points

“The Southern Right Sauvignon comes from 16 different blocks in Walker Bay. Unwooded, it’s a sappy, saline, vinous white with dill and grapefruit flavours and a juicy, lip smacking finish.” 90 points

Pinotage 2017

“The 2017 Southern Right Pinotage was 100% barrel-aged for nine months in 16% new oak. Quite deep in color, it has a fragrant bouquet with a touch of eucalyptus on the nose that complements the red berry fruit. The palate is well balanced, offering grippy tannin and a slight earthiness toward the finish. I appreciate the varietal expression and the sustained peppery note on the aftertaste. Very fine.” 90 points

“Anthony Hamilton Russell is on a mission to get Pinotage taken seriously as a cool climate grape. This structured, slightly reductive style is sappy, sweet and aromatic, with understated wood.” 91 points
