Taylor’s 10 Year Old Tawny Port

“Summer is not really the time to crack open Port but if you do want some to knock back with those after dinner cheeses I’d suggest a Tawny slightly chilled or at cellar temperature. Taylor’s 10-Year-Old Tawny Port is reliable without being overly expensive. It has a rich nose of figs with a citrus edge and a sweet fruit palate that makes it the perfect match for puddings such as sticky toffee.”

Taylor’s 40 Year Old Tawny Port

This is what great tawny port is about. No need to decant, just uncork and enjoy its intricate flavours of nuts, toffee and raisins. A rare pleasure, best enjoyed on its own, lightly chilled.

Taylor’s Quinta de Vargellas 2001

This is an intense, powerful Port brimming with delicious blackcurrant and cherry aromas and a hint of violets. Succulent black fruit and plum flavours dominate on the palate finishing with a lingering taste of blackberries and chocolate. Although still in its prime, even after a decade, this Port can be sipped and savoured at the end of dinner or hidden away for another occasion.

Taylor’s 20 Year Old Tawny Port

From one of Port’s iconic producers comes this rich, finely balanced tawny. Twenty years in cask gives this layers of nuts and dried fruit alongside a spicy, warming finish. Ideal with soft cheeses, although make sure you save a drop for almond – or coffee-based desserts.

Taylor’s 10 Year Old Tawny Port

Taylor’s 10-year-old Tawny Port (Sainsbury’s £19.99) is elegant and smooth, and at home with the cheeseboard, working well with Dunsyre, a creamy brie or a camembert.

This is quite simply a brilliant example of port at its best. With intense cherry and blackberry fruit and complex spiceness, it’s a real treat, if a tad expensive. Try it with Antony’s gorgeous chocolate soufflé.

Taylor's Vintage 2007

“Serious stuff - just the merest hint of cheesiness but real complexity and almost rough tannins - hurly burly - at this stage. Very vibrant and positive with great length. This wine certainly doesn't follow any formula. Dry - yes, porty - finish. Grown up stuff. Sophisticated and a bit wild. 18+”
