Mentzendorff tackles sustainability at 2019 Portfolio Tasting

The Mentzendorff Portfolio Tasting was recently held at 1 Great George Street, London; the theme of this year’s tasting was sustainability and the topic was explored in depth at a seminar and panel discussion chaired by Peter Richards MW and featuring a selection of speakers from across the Mentzendorff Portfolio, including Denis Bunner – Champagne Bollinger, Federico Ceretto – owner, Anthony Hamilton Russell of Hamilton Russell Vineyards, Andrew Donaldson – founder of Akitu from New Zealand’s Central Otago and Adrian Bridge CEO of the Fladgate Partnership.

Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize for Comic Fiction 2017 Shortlist Announced

The shortlist for the funniest fiction prize of the year, the Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize, is announced today, Wednesday 12 April. Six titles are in contention for the top spot. The 2017 shortlist was chosen, with the aid of a glass or two of Bollinger La Grande Année, at the world famous family run house of Champagne Bollinger in Ay, France.

A Tour of France

I’ve always considered Burgundy to be similar to Bob Dylan; Iconic, legendary and irrefutably fantastic regardless of whether you like the genre or not. However, both are also patchy – does anybody remember when Bob Dylan found God? It didn’t do wonders for his music. Likewise, there are some pedestrian, lacklustre and over-priced wines made in Burgundy that have caused me to doubt the entire region in the past, so I was slightly sceptical as we made our way there. This scepticism very quickly dissipated during lunch at Le Montrachet with Vincent Avenel (Global Sales Director) where we tasted the first of many fantastic wines that Chanson produce.
